In a lot of cases, wouldnt a lot of hassle be stopped by just saying 'not interested' or 'sorry, not now' to someone rather than ignoring til the need to block someone arises?
or are some users more demanding and forceful than i give credit for?

you have no idea how demanding this guys sometimes are. Many just dont accept a no and can bei quite nasty when told to leave. Sometimes its a fun to play games with this guys. So I let them go on for a little and answer than in their way. But often you are not in the mood to play this little games or are in the middle of a chat when this guys start spamming your window.
I would never ignore someone who ist asking me, even repeatedly.
Just one example: I once said no to an really annoying, rude and stupid guy ("he hun, wanna fuck your ass" as an introduction together with a random invitation). He than went berserk. Calling me a bitch was the nicest thing he did. But than he was not only spamming my chat window, but also my invitation window, by repeatedly (i counted more than 25 attemps in a short time) inviting me, till I finally ignored hin.
This was an very rude guy but there are many others that are nearly as annoying.

wow, i didnt realise that. pity there isnt an option to ban them from the internet completely, not just an ignore option. then again, they arent men, they are merely petulant boys.

i think there should be a special reward for people who arent on your ignore list himmi  however..lame, been put on ignore for the first time...my unbroken spell ruined...solely because i mistook someone for being another person and sent them a single message. sigh. so this is how it feels |

hey - im not unfair ....
i only ignore people if:
1) they cant read (in my profil is a message -> invite = ignore)
2) they dont stop spam (after i told them to stop that please)
and btw ... i cant answer all people .... sometimes i come online and 10 people writing me ...
so i prefer the german people who writing me - maybe then not 10 anymore but still 5 ... and you know the chatfunctions arent that good (no chat with multiple persons) and sometimes i just cant write fast enough
that why i ignore people in chat OR put inviters or spamer to my ignore list (btw 95 now...)
oh - and it dosnt matter if you are premium member or not ..
