Title: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: oralbc on May 27, 2011, 04:41:29 PM
Now this is by no means a slam on AChat... Cause I love it here... But there is possibly a little sexism that I wouldn't mind seeing disappear in an upcoming change and I wanted to know, is it sexist, reality, simply an oversight, or a good business decision in order to keep some seperation between the sexes?

Men cannot receive gifts:  Come on, really?  I have a couple boytoys, servants, or just real sweethearts I would love to reward accordingly.

NON-Premium Men cannot do groups. At the very LEAST, let us PURCHASE the ability to group with non-premiums.

Shemales have no Robot.  Why???

Shemales have no freebie moves to start with, the males and females both have two each.

Are there others?  What am i missing?  Thoughts on the ones I posted?

Please, keep it nice.  AChat DOES provide the best experience of this nature, and this is just in the nature of helping them to better their product.

Economics at to your question oralbc...

I am not aware of any site that provides as much access to non paying members. Few allow access to sex images... those that do tend to block them out. IN my opinion these free guys ALREADY  are getting a sweet deal.

I am a paying member... and those privileges of a premium if anything should be widened from the free users.

It is not in my sight an issue of sexism.. but of economics. Most sex sites are dominated by males... here no different. On any given night the women are out numbered by males 2-1,... I have seen situations rise where the premium males out number the females population as a whole 2-1.

I understand the viewpoint on the gifting process,... but I think it goes back to economics. It represents an entitlement to get women to stick around... possibly play for free... though that has led to other issues. In some way perhaps it caters in selfishness to making certain paying male members are provided with a small advantage. Creating free male user premiums who is doing nothing to support the site will deter the paying members with the added competition. If you are crappy player,...obviously you can toss huge amounts of scrip at women to vie for their attention.

Pse' I agree... they should develop more poses for the shemale sect. Whether this plays into the economic issues I mentioned I have no idea. At the least creating more receptive poses (MS) for the shemales would address a bit of the obvious catering to the MF orientation.

LOL... needed a broad brush to stroke that category...sect is perhaps a cold term,... but it is a widely diverse group of interests and would be unfair to position or assume a rigid viewpoint of orientation.

Chuckles... to bow in worship?... u so don't know my attitude...*grins*
Perhaps the high priestess needs that personal attention to understand ;)

Bear:

I like your thoughts.  Sheds a bit more light upon the denial of free males in groups.  As a paying member myself (no longer with this avatar, thanks to the darker elements that games like this inevitably bring, LOL.) I get the frustration of entertaining those that DON'T pay.  When I'm seeking some bi guy MMS entertainment, the pickin's are slim and it would be nice to find some willing partners amongst the non prem's.  But yes... That would breed some worse issues.

Again, I hope this didn't come off in a bad way, cause I love what this site offers.  That's why I stayed and started a new avatar.

Pse... Maybe we can be a part of the same sect some night???   ;)

@Bear: Good thing for you I'm mostly writing as correctly as I can. Anyway... I think Swedish might be quite hard to learn... I'd say its harder than English in some ways.

Bongo! on that topic Pse... I noticed a couple of poses where a kiss was missing in the MS pose. If they do modify the one pose they have provided... I would hops of a couple of things... independent hand action... ;) and more important.. the ability to kiss my partners neck, bring my partner close to my body in tight embrace and turn  the head and give a long sensual kiss  :P :-*

I am probably necrotizing this post... but in comment to something said earlier, I do find it strange that she-males get less poses. I mean, would they not be similar, by and large, to the male poses? A thrust is a thrust, a blow job is a blow job, it is just an animation that could be carried over between the different models.

I would love for she-males to get more. I met two this night alone and they were VERY cool and sexy, and just plain a whole bunch of wet fun - and more options always equals more fun.

Well, about giftin male, after reading this http://www.funnyadultgamesplay.com/forum/index.php/topic,630.0.html and after reading somewhere this is a "politically" choose to make more girl join aChat, i'm thinking this about how thinghs work at the moment: ridicolous.
ok, stuff wanna attract more peoples (girls in particolar) and make money only using male or shemale (now only male) real cash!? that's frustrating and make a lot of peoples sell sex for A$ (to much of them add in the profile "man only foor money" or similar).

I think it's time to a rework on the gift system: not A$ but only shop stuff and no more then one of that type of stuf for an account: a char can't have more then 1 month of premium, if he/she wanna have more, he/she have to become premium. or whatelse...dunno!

The only problem is telling a guy I'm not all girl, they can get very angry... and even violent. I never take a guy home unless I'm absolutely sure he's fine with me as I am.

I tend to move away from guys that are too frisky on the dance floor as well.

I absolutely love the few times I don't have to care about that and just let loose. :)

sorry, Bear, but i don't agree whit "Economics".......most girls (not all!) just use the gifted A$ to pay subscription and clothes. this is not economy.....this a bad a development political decision. IMHO, of course
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: hentaiboy69 on November 10, 2011, 11:08:16 AM
Well, well, well.........i have just found something i really don't like....

I was looking in the shop and notice this about the "69" pose: the MF one price is 50 A$, the SF and FF (why F have only the version whit strap-on!?) price is 150 A$ and the SS price is 199 A$......four time the price of the MF pose! so i'm asking my self why there is this gap on the price and if this happend whit more pose!! can someone explain me this!? SUSYYYYYYY!
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: Janine Dee on November 10, 2011, 11:25:09 AM
I'll second that request for explanation even as I offer one. I believe it's a matter of how long the pose has been available. So I am guessing the MF was created long enough ago that it got marked down while the other two are still in the phase where they are expected to cost more if you want to use them.
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: hentaiboy69 on November 10, 2011, 11:31:30 AM
Janine, even this is an explanation, i think it's ridicolous! the poses base option and animation are the same, so don't metter if SF and SS version are more recent then the MF.......

at this point, only two thing come up to my mind: A-team is trying to force away from achat shemale! or it's just a way to prevent fake one!
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: Adera on November 11, 2011, 01:30:06 AM
Ridiculous or not I think Janine's explanation says it all and it is reasonable in a way.
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: hentaiboy69 on November 11, 2011, 01:51:34 AM
I know it.....the difference between MF and SS/SF/SS pose is in the dildo/cock. so, at the end, i think it will be more correct if the price of the SS/SF/SS pose was the same, 150 A$
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???

It makes perfect sense. Stuff sells the most right when it comes out, demand is the highest, price is the highest. when poses and stuff arent selling any more is when they start making them cost less so they can still make some money off of them. its the exact same reason why stuff goes on sale at a grocery store

yes, but we aren't in grocery store! i play online only from the end of 2006, but NEVER seen an object changing real money price only because it's more requested or it was released long time ago! this can happend in economy between player: if i'm gonna sell something really wanted, i can make the price really high, other way for somethingh no one wan, the price get low......and here comes package to balance in game prices
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???

the economy works the same here as a grocery store, supply is just infinite so demand probably governs it

that's the point.....infinite supply for few, not for all! so, why homo, lesbian or shemale have to pay for the pleasure of hetero!? i know, hetero is the most population, bla bla bla.......so, why A-team have to put all the weigth on the shoulders of a minority population!?

hankering to whats perceived as demand and only releasing poses for who are in the majority is ultimately bad business. I'd argue that there's more than enough straight poses, that making more is just flooding a full market, whilst other, minority members are being ignored. How can anyone expect a gay user to pay for membership when freebie straight guys get almost the same number of poses and we dont even have basics like kissing and missionary. A few more poses here would encourage gay guys to buy and renew membership, as they can see its worth something, rather than leaving after a few weeks disappointed. The demand is high, I know that there are a lot of guys, Bi and Gay, who would bite your arm of for a few more MM poses. There's a strong need for more poses, and if Achat isn't willing to provide of gay users it shouldn't ask them to pay.

(I can only speak as a gay guy and not for the lesbian or shemale users because I dont know about them)

I agree.

The problem is that you have an assured income stream versus a presumed one. It's like leaving a job you know that you can do, and do well, and support yourself with for a new job where you could get fired in the first week.

I just see the "No fair." argument as kinda unfair to the Development Team as they are just trying to make sure there is enough money to keep the power on.

Pointing out what they could make with alt positions (like you are doing) is what I feel is more productive.
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: inazuma on November 16, 2011, 08:46:58 AM
Achat won't shut down because It makes a new pose for a minority. Achat makes it most of its money by attracting new paying members and hoping old ones will renew their membership. If Achat uses the investment it would cost them to make a new straight pose on a MM, SS or FF pose, would that cause straight members to quit or discourage them from buying membership? considering how many MF poses there already Its doubtful anyone will care. Now if you add more LGBT poses, it will attract new customers from that community who desperately want more poses. A decent pose set attracts and keeps customers, its not like there arent thousands of gay/bi/ bi curious men who would enjoy Achat IF it provided more for them to do.

inazuma, sweetie, I agree. I'm not saying I don't. I'm just playing Development Team's advocate  because there have been some posters who seem to think the Development Team sits around twirling their black mustaches trying to figure out more ways to screw over their  subscribers.

They are trying to stay viable, and yes, make a profit. It's up to us subscribers to keep them aware that they can make a LGBT profit is what I am trying to say.

Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: Bear on November 16, 2011, 12:45:56 PM
Well they should pay attention,... I would  think it to  be a dedicated customer base when given proper attention.

when it comes to shemales the SS MS positions are seriously lacking...They don't need the correction as much on the SF play right at the moment, in comparison to those 2.

I have stated it many times Janine,... the lack of FF development has puzzled me. The numbers certainly support that more should be provided simply due to the high percentage of Bi's in the community. It just strikes me it would encourage more to join.
Title: Re: Sexism??? Or Something Else???
Post by: inazuma on November 16, 2011, 04:43:39 PM
I can understand the development's thinking, but I'm trying to say is that less of investment in MF will not reduce overall profits, as Achat doesn't get money from individual poses, because we don't buy poses with real money. Revenue comes from new members and renewals, so therefore the Development team should be finding ways of bringing new premiums. At the moment, Straight premiums have little to complain about, they have had a great deal investment etc. and so the number of new premiums and renewals wouldn't be affected. Yet there are so few poses for the 'minorities' that they're not sticking around. thus achat are losing customers to favor a customer group that they already firmly have and won't lose any time soon. Its easy to think that that you HAVE to keep making poses for the majority to make a profit, but investing in underdeveloped areas will ultimately increase the numbers whilst flooding the straight poses will, in the end, simply reach the point that it wont make a difference to new membership.

Now THAT is a good way to put it Ina! It is thoughts like that which I think will have the best chance of getting through to the development team.

While things like Stonewall had their place I truly believe that it was the realization that "We're here, we're queer, and we have disposable income." is what truly has made most of the difference.

Successful businesses follow that money trail here in this area...it should make any capitalist creme in their pants with the potential profit.

The only point I can make it is likely not a immediate full gratification... but over time, which would be successful as long as SOMETHING is coming out to satisfy that customer base.

Theres a massive market, Achat could really become popular if it reaches out to the LGBT community, theres a profit in it. Putting aside the unfairness argument, that a paying user shouldn't be ignored because hes part of a minority, financially there's a big benefit to attracting new gay users. As I've said before, simply being able to kiss and hug your partner will make it more enjoyable.
