Title: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Janine Dee on January 09, 2012, 03:40:28 PM
I think everyone here will agree that the Forum could use more members. Not only would it improve things here on the forum, but it could do wonders on AChat itself, drumming up interest, increasing feedback, just increasing communication all around.

The trick is how.

-On the development team's side I would suggest posting a link in the program for when it's first opened that directs to our user made FAQ's. Not only would it give people lessons on how to NOT be a nuisance, it will hopefully increase forum useage.

-We here on the forum could come up with a message that we'll agree on to post in our profiles. Making it uniform will hopefully not just let people know there is a forum, but that it actively communicates.

Promoting the forum would be good, getting more people here even greater... well as long as they behaved somewhat. A sudden rush of inconsiderate users could be troublesome, though I hope we'd gain some good users as well.

that's the bad point, cause less users read profile, you know it Janine. anyway, yes, it will be good to find a way to promote the forum inside the game and an option can be the famous preview about poses someone had suggested recently (don't remember who was, sorry!)

Janine, your idea is good. I'm sure we'll get lots of good ideas. For me, there is ONE big question - what does the A-Team think about it?
- They gave us this forum, they also gave us the chance to make the quick-start guide, the different language translations, the story contest including a price... but they never answered to our wish, to give more hints in the game to this forum.
Just 2 days ago I renewed this question - no answer, neither from Tom nor from Suzy.

Hoping they read this thread, here is my question:
A-Team, what do you think about this forum? What is your interest in it? Which intentions do you have?

Perhaps they just made it in the beginning, as "hm, there has to be a forum". I don't accuse them for this thoughts. Many companys have this thinking. Maybe we surprised them, when we started to use it?!

@hentai: Yes, less users read profiles. No problem, these kind of users we don't need (and don't wanna have). Here the circle is closing (German saying) with Adera fears. The inconsiderates users we'll leave very fast. From time to time we have got them, all have gone. Cause the sound here is so friendly, peaceful and constructive, they loose interest very fast.

Hey, A-Team, if you need help in understanding the big chance of a forum, I'd like to help you. Believe me, I don't mean this in a sarcastic way.

I would say that the recent changes with the LGBT and threesome getting their own threads and the changing of this board's name would indicate a commitment to the forum. If anything I'm more inclined to believe it's a "Wow... okay they're seriously passionate about what we are doing here... Now what do we do?"

Or they may be to the phase of bouncing ideas of what to do.

Either way they are probably not wanting to give too much until they know exactly what it is they want to do.

For me I see it like our FAQs. We saw a need, we strove to fill it, and not only did they not shut us down they supported our efforts. I'm having a similar train of thought here.

Oh, and I'm confident in this forum. We've filtered out the bad people before, and whatever bad ones that actually bother to read profiles and find their way here would get filtered out like the rest.

I think a good way to think of it is... has ANY multi-user program that grew big NOT had a forum?

the only bad thing i see here is that the forum is moderated too much . censoring cause someone insult a-team , i'm for , but cenroring a constructive critic or a personnal advice who dont go in the same way that they want is not a good thing. but its just what i think personnaly.
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Lover on January 10, 2012, 02:07:56 AM
Rukya, personally I don't see any moderation here (respectively the only moderation we have is our own :) ). I don't know what has happened in the time I couldn't have been here, but before this just one person was moderated. IMHO it wasn't correct, but that's another story.

If you look at many other forums there are much more posts deleted, user warned or asked to behave better. We are rather "free" here. I like this! If we grow much bigger here probably we'll need more mods. But for now I don't think it's necessary.
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Adera on January 10, 2012, 03:17:59 AM
Yes, I think we're quite free to do as we please as well.
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Janine Dee on January 10, 2012, 07:27:51 AM
As someone who has moderated in the past I will add my voice to Lover's and Adera's, but I will also add that probably no one who has ever been moderated has stood up and said "Yeah, okay, I deserved that." Even the most hateful of posters will feel the victim when their hateful posts are deleted.

So a moderator's job description basically includes the "villain" tag, and sometimes their judgment call could be questioned, but judgment calls are necessary BECAUSE even those hateful posters feel their hateful posts are okay.

suzy_a has done a great job being a presence that we needed here on the forum, at least in my opinion.

You hit the point Rukya! Tell them, the more we ask here, the bigger is the chance to be heared.
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Janine Dee on January 10, 2012, 07:27:32 PM
As far as getting people to the forum with a lack of development they may be interested in? A more visible presence on the forum help inspire development. I could literally give a list of poses that came from our suggestions/promoting on here.

Now a good rule I use on the internet is to always try to speak as if the person is right there in front of me. The problem with the internet is that they aren't, so it's easy to say things that would otherwise never be considered.

And if you do say something that gets erased, then it gets erased. I have, I don't remember what it was, but susy just deleted it, she didn't even feel the need to talk to me about it. Even in the cases where people got themselves into bigger trouble my understanding is that they WERE talked to.

So honestly, worrying about suzy having to edit you is sorta like worrying about getting pulled over by the police. You hope it won't happen, you know it could, and if it does you just be polite, let them let you know what rule you broke, and everyone then proceeds with their day.

Still, I would like to pull this thread back on topic.

Any other ideas on promoting the forum?

Did we want to try to come up with a unified message for the forum for our profiles?

That's because MM and MS have gotten poses this time, 1.5 months without a pose isn't very much... I've had to wait quite a bit more than that at times.

Still, I would like to pull this thread back on topic.

"Check out the forum" not sure people will understand that or find their way here from that though. I should probably try to promote the forum a bit more with people I come across than what I do now.

I have met a few lurkers though, some have told me they like reading my posts... that's very flattering. :)

I hoped Suzy or the A-Team answer to this thread respectively to my question. Perhaps they still will do...

They could make a button in the upper line in the game on the left besides "Logout".
Also a small button in the profile is helpful but not a must be: "Forum user"
A small textline "If you need help visit the forum"

We can have an unified message, something like "Join me in the forum" or "Support us in the forum" "Become a member of our forum"

A-Team, what do you think about this forum? What is your interest in it? Which intentions do you have?
We simply think our main product is the AChat software, and this forum is an extension/addition to it.
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Bear on January 11, 2012, 12:07:20 PM
well it might help to have an in game direct link.  Without naming names... other sites have that ability... the purpose here being is developing a stronger sense of community and loyalty suzi'
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Janine Dee on January 11, 2012, 12:35:09 PM
Of course. We just see the forum as a tool to support the AChat software, and think closer ties between the two could increase that support.
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: NewGurl on January 11, 2012, 12:43:49 PM
I agree, since I have been coming to the forum I have met some people that I probably wouldn't have met in AChat. Bear, Janine,  Ruyka, hentaiboy, Lover to name just a few. I felt that getting to know them a little in here has made me more attracted to each and every one of them. It has greatly enhanced my play in AChat itself.  Allowing a link in AChat would only increase the number of members that you would get to know better before going in the room with them.

There are several times I have been asked "Where is the forum At?"  by users that have been here several months. I feel that the stronger the forum gets, the stronger AChat gets.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Lover on January 11, 2012, 01:11:35 PM
Good point NG! I'm sure some people leave AChat cause they have problems to find friends and lovers. But if you know more user cause you talked to them here it's easier to talk in game.

@Suzy: Thanks for your answer. Of course the software is your main product, this is the key to earn money. None of us wants to change this - the  opposite is true: We wanna support the game. As long as you earn money you can improve the game. This wish we all, maker and members, share.

I think the forum must be clearly signaled in game cause each time i'm here and someone try to invit me in game , i tell him/her "sorry , i'm busy in the forum" or something like this . And 9time/10 the response from her/him is "Oh , there is a forum" or "What forum ?" . Many peoples dont know that achat have a forum .
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: bluedenim on January 12, 2012, 02:37:29 AM
I agree totally Rukya

But I get the feeling that I am frowned upon as frivolous because we are continually going "off-topic"

So should we have a general forum, or can I start a thread entitled Blue's House where we can just chat aboout allsorts, like Rukya's latest spankee, or my adventures that weekend, or Janine's dungeon..... Ooooops did it again didn't I.
Think I'll start one called "My Freckles"
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Adera on January 12, 2012, 02:47:11 AM
You can go off topic, I've gone way off topic in quite a few threads, but in the sticky threads made by suzy_a or an administrator I think we should be more on topic.

Some discussion around peoples posts are inevitable and needed at times but if we want our ideas to be taken seriously we have to try some as well.

Blue's House sounds good! when are you going to open it!?  ;D

I have my fault in most of the recent off topic, i admit it, cause Rukya, blue and NG had involved me so much whit their little game, ihih.....and i agree whit Adera about the treads made by susy_a and tom.

oh, before i forget....NG, thanks for your sweety word!

Playful banter is always encouraged,... but I agree with Adera and Janine's comments there that suzi's and the administrator threads should be more topic oriented and not overwhelmed as what happened. Etiquette would allow banter tagged onto a topic response,.., in the general threads like these,... anything goes... ;)

My opinion for what it is worth.

The best part is that at least we get to interact with folks we might not normally see, or talk with... good lord,.. I hardly see anyone here on when I am logged in. I would be missing  some wonderful people otherwise!

and definitely nice to have interaction with ppl on here lol i still have yet to meet anyone here besides the sweet guy who got me into the forum :-* on the game but here lately internet has been acting up so badly i'm lucky to do even a room without being kicked off. *sighs* wish the internet was like it normally was i haven't had a good rooming on achat without getting interrupted all week

mmmmh, not so easy to find a way to promote the forum itself.....we had suggest some idea, but if dev-team don't assist us, there is only one chance to do it and, honestly, how many of you would like to deleted their description to simple write, dunno, "join the forum! http://www.funnyadultgamesplay.com/forum/!" !? i can, cause i don't have write something so important (weeelll.....) but others do!

in the past we had ask for more lenght description test, but no answer from susy_a or tom, so till this happend, there is nothing we can do, if you understand what i mean!
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum

I can change my description np. but I still think that a link inside the game would be the best choice, maybe creating a tutorial button that links to the Quick-Start Guides would work aswell.
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Lover on January 13, 2012, 01:14:25 PM
Hentai, medjai... all you say is correct. This is the reason I think about making a new thread just for ideas in the banner.
This topic should be used for more/other ideas including asking the A-Team for more ways to establish this forum in game.

Actually we need the our banners for other notes, too. E.g. the contest, the Friday protest.... and for some other notes to.

No one has to remove his own words. I usually change my banner very often as it't a way to welcome someone.
The only point, this is for now the only chance to give hints to this forum. It's definetley not the best way and it's also just a little support - but as long as we don't have other possibilities it's a little step we can do.
Once more, it's no duty!

That's my guess. I put it up as I had suggested, only to have Adera message me I was showing I love AChat. My guess is they block links, which WOULD be necessary really. I looked at Lover's and his message read okay, but it didn't have a link listed... so that was what I figured.

Non premium can't add comment, but they can read us. If they find out something interessing, this can be an incentive for become a premium, so we have to promote the forum to all

When I got my "I love AChat" I knew he was promoting the forum to. So when I looked at his banner I saw what they would allow.

So him checking mine to make sure it passed makes sense to me.

Bump it back to top!

Janine started this thread and I made a sub-thread from this one when I opened "ideas for banner".
But the banner is just one possible ways. So I go on, aksing for more ideas to make this forum getting more nice people.

The easiest way is using the A-Team :D As long as they don't do it we have to be more creative!
-What about an introduction-thread? Everyone can introduce, telling about the gender, the likes and dislikes, your favourite play in room...?
- As only premmembers are able to write here - what about the chance to gift a forum membership? I know, this needs the supoort of the A-Team,
  but perhaps it's possible?

and the secondproposition , i dont see what you talking about then no anwser :)
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Lover on January 22, 2012, 04:39:51 AM
Rukya... few place? Maybe I wasn't exactly well enough. Of course I'm talking about an own thread here in this forum.

Second.. you can gift girls and shemales. They can buy a membership, clothes, position... what if you can gift every member with a special forum membership? It's a very new idea, very unusual and maybe not feasible - but only when we have new and "strange" ideas we can get actionable ideas.

Good idea... perhaps merge it with  pantless Friday... "Pantless Fridays!... visit  the Achat forum and find out why!"

I have found out that I get a lot of visits on Friday's not necessarily responses but folks taking a peek...so don't let the quiet behavior and lack of comments lead you to think it doesn't work!

some peoples i know had ask me why i was showing my naked ass sometimes and i explain it them whit pleasure! but to bad they don't had join us here! sigh!

oh, wellll....keep the hope alive!

mmmmh, wonder if the dev-team had thimnk about our request of more space in the "Description" area of the in game profile...i hope yes, cause i would like to add more to support the work we are making here!
i mean, the contest, the story posted in the past (and hope more well come soon!), gallery, the fashion design....lot of thing who only the user of the forum know at the moment!
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum
Post by: Lover on June 07, 2012, 04:49:13 AM
Pantless Friday and topless Tuesday are promoting the forum. I also got some asks about it.
Perhpas we should wait for new ideas until we know, if our request of changing/adding boards is answered. IMO the forum gets more and more intransparent for new members and this could be a reason they loose interest so fast.

Also "How to get and keep members" could be changed or merged after starting the "new" forum to a "most wanted list", separated in poses & actions, banner & profile, clothes & body options, rooms & interieur...

I see (just my opinion) the A-Team is concentrating on new poses, rooms and all that stuff... and we take care for clothes, events, moderating... all the things we can do. We just need the tools to do so. This means we have to be unique in our wishes. I prepare a thread for banner & profile changes. The A-Team has to know what we want, the time and the interest to do.

I agree whit you, Lover.....but let me add a thing about clothes: at the moment, our designer can only work whit esisting stuf, so the dev-team efford is needed specially if we need and new 3d mesh.

about other stuf, yes, we can do our part in keep the dev-team easy and that a good point. thank you lover!

Take heart... the community has grown... quite considerably over the past couple of years and past few months. Not all are active posters... but we see many who pop in and read,... perhaps not posting but visiting... I do get many who approach and talk to me though they are not necessarily active here.

Small steps still take you closer to the larger goals....

a 'Forum' button in the game. would be very useful and it would take a very small effort to create imo. It does depend on the willingness of the A-team to create it. So far, they have expressed they see the forum as a secundary part of the game and therefor the amount of effort put in, is minimal. Until the A-team understands that this forum, if managed professionally and pointed out in the game, can be a huge asset to the game, it will be in our hands to get more people here.

While on one hand they use the forum as a think tank for ideas to generate new releases, I feel that we don't always get a return for the energy we put into the forum. So if we want more people to join, it is in our hands to get them here..

Even a direct link in game would be nice.... I'm probably not the only one who sometimes drifts back here and reads during the quiet times. The linkage to the shop exists ingame. So as Tight indicates, I am under the impression the matter should not be a major task.

and btw Covems Iliked that tagline

I have used the "Go to Shop" button to get here, too.

Here's something else I've done.  I gifted a member (not for sex, because I wanted to), with the condition that she take out a 3 day subscription and join the forum.  It was something of an experiment to see if she could post after her 3 days were up.  It turns out that she can continue posting, (although she got a "case of the red ass" over a comment and has since stoppped posting) so my point is:  If you know/meet someone who is a free member and you would like to help them try being premium for a few days (it's only 200 for a 3 day subscription), try  to get them to join us here.  The only problem being is that you cannot send a gift to male members.

Another problem I've found as I've spoken to people about Forum and encouraging them to join is the initial registration box ...people try to log on and are told they are not recognised and  give up, not realising, they need to register their details first, using the tiny registration underneath the welcome and log in box .   Could this be made better and bigger ?

I'm sure we are probably losing potential members this way too.

Definitely need a Forum button in charachter editor for a direct link  and a bigger REGISTER button.

Brandy, the point is this: usually, when you join a normall MMO (and i have done it soooo many time, just for try one), usually you have access to the forum automatically, even if you are free user. So, peoples who had subcrive like premium, probably don't pay attention to this and tend to give up.

Brandy, you are right about make it more easy to find out and same thing for a forum buttom inside achat too! more visibility can push peoples to read the forum and use achat in a better way, even if they are free users!
Title: Re: Promoting the Forum

Agreed. I really don't get why free users can't have access to the forum. It won't help them, nor Achat, if you look deep into it.

I have been using Bear's Personal Advertisements topic to redirect alot of the people who come to me looking for a Mistress.  In most cases they are just looking for a quick spanking, a little strapon action, then they want to fuck me and leave.  On occasion it can be fun to give someone a cheap thrill like this, but most of the time it's pretty boring.  So instead of spending lots of time explaining why I am not really into that kind of play, I posted it in the Personal Advertisements section.  Not only did it work right away, but I also noticed that the people who I directed there also started reading the forum and making posts of their own.  So my desire to do less work myself seems to have served a dual purpose.  Might be worth having others try it.   :)

Hello

Well I did give the link to forum, mainly for topics like FAQ, HOW TO ... but that is real also that the DreamWorld's Forum is only open to premium Users, so I think some of my links where lost  ;D

Surely the Forum may have just the answer to so many questions some people may have.

Hi everyone!

Well I was a premium user for almost a year before checking out the forum.  I usually do not use forums.  What drew me in?  A contest and prodding from a friend to check it out.

Maybe The ACHAT gods could run a banner once a week like they do when an update happens to advertise there is more to the game than the game itself.  This doesn't just have to highlight the contests either it could include the latest poll, a particular thread or topic like how to improve achat.

this would at least let all users that log in know it exists and is used by players on a regular basis.

my opinion only....

Kisses

AWW Lover

Don't be like that..he he  ;D

I already know you can multitask... ::)

moderator, player. writer...just to name a few....a small request OK SEVERAL small requests  ;) should be easy!

part of the problem is achat may feel there is no revenue generated here.  I say if you have to be premium to post and our posts impact the game well then that generates revenue.  Elena is just one recent example...no forum..no elena...equals loss of revenue.

kisses

Post by: Lover on May 16, 2015, 04:02:00 AM
Sure I can multitask ;)

We mods (and I'm sure, everyone else too) are completely with you. The forum IS part of the game, no matter if it's just for technical support, asking question, and getting news about updates.
We also say, regular members of forum don't quiet the game (so fast) and become regular customers - which means more money for them.

Believe me, we are stubborn ;D and won't stop asking.

sorry I missed the other 99 times; but I will say that the 100th one I seen makes total sense to me and would make it easy to get to the forum to shop, chat, write and post.
