"Heavy metal icon and Motörhead frontman Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister died from cancer on Monday (Dec. 28), the band's management has confirmed. He was 70. Since founding Motörhead in 1975, Kilmister was the band's sole constant member, known for his powerful bass playing, gravelly vocals, his massive mutton chops and seemingly indestructible constitution, which somehow weathered more than 50 years of hard living, hard touring, cigarettes, alcohol and amphetamines. The singer of the loudest band is in rock heaven now. A few days ago, he did an interview for a german magazine, saying he's living healthy now -  having his vodka with orange juices. And it would only be a rumour that he had sex with 2000 girls, but it have been more than 1000 lol

HELLRAISER

I'm living on an endless road
Around the world for rock and roll
Sometimes it feels so tough
But I still ain't had enough
I keep saying that it's getting to much
But I know I'm a liar

Feeling all right in the noise and the light
But that's what lights my fire
Hellraiser, In the thunder and heat
Hellraiser, Rock you back in your seat
Hellraiser, And I'll make it come true

Hellraiser, I'll put a spell on you

Walking out on another stage
Another town, another place
Sometimes I don't feel right
Nerves wound up to damn tight
Don't you tell me that it's bad for my health

'Cos kicking back don't make it

Out of control, I play the ultimate role

Don't know how to fake it

Hellraiser, In the thunder and heat
Hellraiser, Rock you back in your seat
Hellraiser, And I'll make it come true

Hellraiser, I'll put a spell on you

I'm living on an endless road
Around the world for rock and roll
Sometimes it feels so tough
But I still ain't had enough
I keep saying that it's getting to much

But I know I'm a liar

Feeling all right in the noise and the light

But that's what lights my fire

David Robert Jones (8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016), known professionally as David Bowie .was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, arranger, painter and actor. He was a figure in popular music for over four decades, and was considered by critics and other musicians as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. His androgynous appearance was an iconic element of his image, principally in the 1970s and 1980s

Their are many songs That I loved of Bowie

A personal favourite of mine.     China Girl - David Bowie

"China Girl"

I could escape this feeling
with my China girl
I feel a wreck
without my little China girl
I hear her heart beating
loud as thunder
Saw they stars crashing

I'm a mess
without my little China girl
Wake up mornings where's my little China girl
I hear her heart's beating
loud as thunder
Saw they stars crashing down

I feel a-tragic
like I'm Marlon Brando
When I look at my china girl
I could pretend that nothing really meant too much
When I look at my China girl

I stumble into town just like a sacred cow
Visions of swasticas in my head
Plans for everyone
It's in the white of my eyes

My little China girl
You shouldn't mess with me
I'll ruin everything you are
I'll give you television
I'll give you eyes of blue
I'll give you man who wants to rule the world

And when I get excited
My little China girl says
Oh baby just you shut your mouth
She says : sh-sh-shhh

Rest in Peace  David Bowie.

I grew up with  "Our Terry"  on Radio 2 with "Wake up to Wogan"

My mom adored him and his humour. His face became as famous as his Irish brogue voice when presenting  " Children In Need"  -  A charity event every year since 1980 he was involved with, with Pudsey Bear  and his wry, dry wit on The "Eurovision Song" contest.

He has a following of fans who will be devastated he's gone, including me -

TOGGs   -   Terry's Old Gits & Gals..

The keyboardist and founder of Emerson, Lake & Palmer was found dead by his girlfriend on Thursday night in the couple’s Santa Monica, California house with a single bullet shot to the head.
The piano player had been depressed as a result of a nerve problem that affected his right hand and severely impaired his ability to play the keyboard. Still, he was slated to perform next week in Japan.

On their official Facebook site, the band wrote, “We regret to announce that Keith Emerson died last night at his home in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, aged 71. We ask that the family’s privacy and grief be respected.” Band member Carl Palmer stated on his personal page, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my good friend and brother-in-music, Keith Emerson.”

RIP  Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali, the three-time heavyweight champion who proclaimed himself “the Greatest”, defied the US government over the Vietnam war, and later became one of the most well-known – and loved – sportsmen in history has died. He was 74.

Ali died late on Friday 3 June 2016 at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, the family’s spokesperson Bob Gunnell said. His funeral will take place in his home town of Louisville, Kentucky.

Ali was admitted to hospital on Thursday with a respiratory problem – a move that was described at the time as “a precaution”. However, reports emerged 24 hours later which said he had been placed on a life support machine and his family “feared the worst”.

Ali had become increasingly frail since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1984, aged 42, and in recent years had limited his public appearances. Earlier this month his brother Rahman Ali revealed that the condition was so advanced he could barely speak or leave his house.

As a sportsman he will be remembered for many classic fights – in particular beating the fearsome Sonny Liston to become champion; the Fight of the Century and the Thrilla in Manilla against Joe Frazier, and the Rumble in the Jungle in 1974 when, at the age of 32, he surprised everyone bar himself by cutting down George Foreman in Kinshasa to regain back his title.

Muhammad Ali, then known as Cassius Clay, stands over challenger Sonny Liston, in 1965.

Red Bird

Our winter has come
For our red bird has gone
Our streets are so bleak
For a lack of her song

She flew in the night
Leaving the pain behind
Streaking to heaven
With angels of her kind

We weep for our loss
For finally she’s free
Her pain was a cage
Where no red bird should be

Our sun doesn’t shine
For the days seem so long
Our hearts are heavy
For a lack of her song

-Goodbye Jingerbird-

A lovely woman, with a great sense of humor, personality and fun loving spirit who passed away from this world much too soon.

Thanks for all the warmth you gave.  Wherever you may be, I hope you keep on smiling that lovely crazy smile of yours.

Take care Jbird.

“Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure.”

I offer a  respectful apology to Jingerbird, her family, lover and friends for placing this next tribute.
My time came after her, our paths never crossing, but that does not mean I do not know you
I dwell in the forum and am an admirer of past works, writings, posts. This is where I met Jingerbird
and Tango's love, share it. I have a small essence of her and understand why she will be missed.

I would like to pay tribute to a comedic hero, whose work transcended generations, age n culture.
I will always think of him as FUN, kind, generous and his love for Gilda. God bless her soul too.

I wish to say goodbye to GENE WILDER, I will not miss you, because your humor is a part of me.
I am only jealous that someone gets to enjoy your new laughs and I will have to settle for your past.
You were not only an amazing comedian, but an amazing human as well. You will be MISSED.
You will always be remembered. God bless you GENE.

There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing

Or which way the river's flowing
Is it raining? Is it snowing?
Is a hurricane a'blowing?
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of hell a'glowing?
Is the grisly reaper mowing?
Yes!
The danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing!

Debbie Reynolds -- who rose to stardom in "Singin' in the Rain" and quickly became a staple among Hollywood royalty -- died Wednesday as a result of a stroke, TMZ has learned ... just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher passed away ... this according to her son Todd.
Debbie was rushed to a hospital shortly after 1 PM when someone at the Beverly Hills home of her son, Todd, called 911 to report a possible stroke. We're told Debbie and Todd were making funeral plans for Carrie, who died Tuesday of cardiac arrest.

I just learned Adam West has passed away. Showing my age a bit, but as a kid my friends and i were so excited to watch the new TV series and were so bummed out that it was tongue and cheek, almost a comedy show. Even my dad thought it was funny. Yet we watched it every Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Years later when the show went into syndication, we discovered it again and enjoyed it even more. Adam West's portrayal of the "caped crusader" is hilarious to this day.

Known for the powerhouse riffs and rhythm guitar that propelled the group from Sydney, Australia, to superstardom, Young had been suffering from dementia for the past three years, the Australian Associated Press reported

Best damn rhythm guitar player ever. i was fortunate enough to see this band many times. Chicago has always been an AC/DC town and from articles i have read they loved playing here, able to sell out for 3 nights in a row almost every tour.

To me the highlight of each show i saw was when they did something like this.

https://youtu.be/hUFPooqKllA

This 15th day of January has become a sad day for me learning of Dolores O’Riordan’s passing at the much too young age of 46. Another beautiful artist leaves US far too soon. She was the songwriter and singer of the Irish Alt rock band The Cranberries. I grew up with her music, her lyrics and voice. I will not soon forget the passion she brought to her performances, nor all the memories that include her sound. I will miss you dearly. We are short one more angel today.

It's funny or perculiar I guess, to people who dont know or understand or not experienced it, but the online bond between people can be strong and we do grieve for their passng.

I saw this poem and it hit a cord with my Real Life losses but also with 2 online friends that I had spent good times with and have now passed on to the next world.

I remember both with a fondness that though tinged with sadness at their calling to leave us, the memories they leave will always make me smile.

Coincidentally its both their birhdays this month of May.  A Bourbon Toast to both.  Salute!

My Memory Library  by  © Sarah Blackstone

Imagine if I was given one moment,
just a single slice of my past.
I could hold it close forever,
and that moment would always last.

I'd put the moment in a safe,
within my heart's abode.
I could open it when I wanted,
and only I would know the code.

I could choose a time of laughing,
a time of happiness and fun.
I could choose a time that tried me
through everything I've done.

I sat and thought about what moment
would always make me smile.
One that would always push me
to walk that extra mile.

If I'm feeling sad and low,
if I'm struggling with what to do,
I can go and open my little safe
and watch my moment through.

There are moments I can think of
that would lift my spirits every time.
The moments when you picked me up,
when the road was hard to climb.

For me to only pick one moment
to cherish, save and keep
is proving really difficult,
as I've gathered up a heap!

I've dug deep inside my heart,
found the safe and looked inside
There was room for lots of moments;
in fact, hundreds if I tried.

I'm building my own little library,
embedded in my heart,
for all the moments spent with you
before you had to part.

I can open it up whenever I like,
pick a moment and watch it through,
My little library acts as a promise
I'll never ever forget you.

Just heard this:

Kenny Rogers: Country music legend dies aged 81

A family representative said he "passed away peacefully at home from natural causes".

Rogers topped pop and country charts during the 1970s and 1980s, and won three Grammy awards.

Known for his husky voice and ballads including The Gambler, Lucille and Coward Of The County, his career spanned more than six decades.

The Gambler - Kenny Rogers.  RIP.

in 2007 he unexpectedly found himself back in the limelight in the UK when The Gambler became the unofficial World Cup anthem of England's Rugby Team.

The song became so popular that during his 2013 Glastonbury Festival legends slot Rogers played it twice.

''When Tomorrow Starts Without Me'' by David M. Romano

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me,

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.

But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,

and said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
and all the fun we had

If I could re-live yesterday
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne.

He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew

I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same
There's no longing for the past.

You have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things
You knew you shouldn't do.

But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand
And share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

A hero in the eyes of his country even before Covid struck he became a name everyone around the world knew because of Covid.  Ironic that the virus he had put so much effort into defeating was, in the end, what defeated him.  May God welcome him home with as much glory as we send him off in and may he rest in peace knowing he was valued.

Mary, Queen of Scots

Born: December 8, 1542
Birthplace: Linlithgow, Scotland

Died: February 8, 1587 (aged 44)
Cause of Death: Decapitation

Queen regnant of Scotland from 14 December 1542 to 24 July 1567 Princess Mary ascended to the throne on the death of her father, King James V, despite being only 6 days old.

Raised at the French court, Mary grew to be over 6 feet. She married the French dauphin Francis II aged 16, becoming queen of both countries. After Francis' early death Mary returned to Scotland in 1651 as a Catholic regent in a Protestant country.

Her relationship to her cousin Elizabeth I of England began cordially with the two exchanging correspondence. Mary's second and third marriages to men who sought greater power soured their relationship and Mary's with the Scottish people. Mary was arrested in 1567 and forced to abdicate in favor of her infant son the future James VI of Scotland and James I of England.

Mary famously escaped her capture a year later, only to be imprisoned in England on her arrival. She then lived under house arrest for 18 years before Elizabeth ordered her execution in 1587.
