On a different note, for better or for worse, many of the other options require user to send in some kind of identification to prove themselves to be adults before accessing any nudity and action. I personally find it to be a bigger hassle than its gain. Sending copies of my id cards or similar online feels like too big an invasion of privacy for me. In my book, being able to send a small amount of money should be good enough a proof in most cases.

I do think there is a need for age verification in larger communities or the software company might risk getting sued and what not. However, there are better solutions available than having to submit a copy of your ID. Second Life for instance offer a number of different options that are automatically verified with some online databases (think they cooperate with national agencies or something). I personally found those options quite reasonable, and I didn't feel like it was a security risk to me (or a violation of my privacy)...

but anyways, back to the topic...

DianaDean:
AChat have monthly costs (server, bandwidth, development, support, rent, salery, etc.). The fact that they allow free members to have sex (with limited poses) is quite a fair deal I think. And, the things you bought are not lost, they are just put on hold. So, the moment you decide to pay for Premium membership again your items and poses should be available to you again. I suggest spending the 30 USD and get yourself 1 year of premium membership, that way you don't have to worry about it for a long time and you will have access to everything you already bought.

Bouli I'm not saying my items were stolen, I'm saying is that I no longer have access to items that I bought when I had my subscription and now that my subscription I just can't get access to these items.
About IMVU there is a VIP and AP, so you'll be a VIP user you have to pay a sum of $ 2.00 per month. If after your VIP it's over you still has access to items that you bought when he was a VIP, or if you want to be AP user you pay $ 19.50 only once, and you'll be user AP the rest of your life.

Well then maybe I should just save my money and be like the rest and not pay the monthly cause even the paid members lose thier rights after the subcription runs out. Might as well just not give achat my money so the game doesnt advance. And leave only the paying to the men that play the game since its clear women can get free rides here.  As a paying member since day 1 I should have just saved my money. If you cant beat them join them right?

Diana buy a subscription is the same thing that you buy a home knowing that in the future you'll not be able to live there. The subscription is a product, and I think any product when you buy should be forever regardless if you use it or not. Developers should put ads in the "rent subscription" and not buy subscription. Another side note. Paying for a full year at once might yield a good discount (almost half the price), but you'll only get the A$ 3000 once, whereas you'll get 1000 every month using the recurring monthly subscription method. Worth considering if you're interested in buying many poses and costumes, especially as new pop up along the way. The cheaper option might end up more expensive if you start buying credits separetely.

No, a subscription is a monthly fee for a service, just as Kaileen pointed out earlier in this thread. Consider it a lease of a car. You get to keep that very same car for as long as you keep paying. Here you have the extra added perk of being able to come back to that very same pimped out car after leaving it standing in the company's garage for a few months. Smiley

You beat me to it Bouli.

The problem is that I just don't know what we could say... they don't want to pay, and are outraged that they would be expected to pay like everyone else. They feel that someone else should pay their way, and we're the villains for thinking they should be do otherwise.

We could come up with a million examples, and get a million "Nah uh"s or "Bah"s.

Oh and Erico, even if you do buy a home you still pay property taxes. If you don't the property can be seized. If you buy a car you still have to pay for gas and repairs. So even when you "buy" that isn't the end of things, there are still bills to pay.

Diana I agree with you, because I think that users shouldn't win the free gifts. I wish the subscription to be permanent because the gifts were paid, many users would think twice before giving gift to someone. For me it would end with this problem.

Well LittleLeo, maybe you can explain to us how the AChat servers will stay powered up if everyone gets a free ride?

Very easy Janine Dee, the servers or developers would sell A$ gift, Diana was a good idea.

Sell A$ gifts? I'm not understanding what it is you are trying to say, I'm sorry.

Do you mean having all expenses covered by purchases people make with the A$ that they have to buy with real money?

That means the free users would be even MORE of a drain on system resources.

It also means prices would have to go up because if they aren't pulling in enough money to cover expenses AChat will go belly up.

They also couldn't take the time to do quality work, they would just have to keep producing.

What you seem to be saying is that I'm supposed to have a worse AChat experience because some people are too cheap to pay for the service they want to use.

For my part I have an incredibly detailed, wonderfully smooth graphical interface with ZERO adds. If you want IMVU so much why not go there and stop trying to mess up a system that is working pretty well?

Janine forget it. Don't spend energy on senseless discussions. You said it "We could come up with a million examples, and get a million "Nah uh"s or "Bah"s.". I had a short look at IMVU - you can buy credits, so it must be similar to AChat. The graphic I've seen is funny, not really good. And you are right: If IMVU is so much better - why waiste time here?

I think those people don't work - they are not able to earn money, cause it cannot be fair someone has to pay them Wink

Little Leo, DianaDean, Erice: What is your problem? Do you want everything for free? An usual internet problem. Many people think "Hey, internet - you can get everything and this all for free" A social problem. Some idiots are absolutley greedy and many people don't wanna pay a price that's fair. Maybe this kind of thinking lead us to the great depression?

Don't understand me wrong. This is a forum and we can discuss. But not only about "it must be free for us".
