Yes, I'm sure that he was. 

HB. To be honest I've read the first book, for me its a 6/10. In the first pages the book got my attention but then it was a little boring.
I've bought the other 2 books and i've read 20% of the second  and 0% of the third and since then I haven't read them. I've read other books after, so the reason isn't lacking of time to read; I really didn't find them that exciting. I've read other books that were way more exciting.

PS: Just to remind that Fifty Shades of Grey is a trilogy of books with strong  and explicit scenes of bondage, sadism and masochism.
