          I've had the screen suddenly go black as well.  Only way around it is windowed mode, and change the size of the window.

          It's not just Nvidia GPU's. mine is an AMD.

          I've seen the black faces from time to time as well.  As to a fix. I have no idea.  Have you contacted support about it ?

          Thanks to technical support, I downloaded the steam version. So far I have full access. Seems that the problem is solved :)
