Personally, can you see achat keeping both versions going ? There has to be a point when they say “enough is enough” and ditch this old version.

That said, I can see your point because achat are still adding items to this version, we all just have to wait and see what happens.

if you read the new “billing” it states achat next, achat prem and mobile as a package subscription so John very well could be right sadly.

I was also under the impression that the graphics engine update is going to be a replacement or build on top of achat. but after seeing the info of Achat Next on steam, im almost certain that Achat Next is gonna be a separate game… which I personally think, it’s not a bad thing, we have the option to choose. and based on the description on steam, AChat Next will start with very few poses and locations(30 poses and 3 rooms, see screenshot, they can’t replace achat with that!) it looks like we can use the same login for AChat Next.. not sure how it’s going to work out, do our purchases/credit get transferred to the new game or we need to buy items and poses again. and i don’t know what it means by ’30 couples’, does it indicate that we have to select from pre-built models instead of customized looks? so far the new game seems concerning, better get ready to be disappointed…

I tend to agree with what Leon is saying. But if it goes that way, it will be a major setback to loyal users that played achat for years.

As a casual AChat user but long time developer, I have always assumed that AChat “2” aka AChat Next was going to be a new, completely stand-alone game, without any ties back into AChat, except maybe account name/log-in information. I have not seen that stated so specifically before, but am totally not surprised that this is the direction the company is taking. Despite the release delays, I’m sure it would have been even more difficult to somehow build the new stuff into a legacy code and graphics base.

It’s also why I find people promoting new things for AChat like clothing, poses, etc, very odd, given that I have always assumed they would never be transferable. Why buy for an old game about to be completely replaced, instead of saving your money for the new UI/game? Unless A$ you buy are also transferable since they could be based on a user account and NOT the game? Maybe?

I don’t think they’re likely to do that because it would lose their not-so many gamers. . Their official people have mentioned that the data of the old version will be transferred to the new version, they are the same game. . 🙂

What does find 30 couples mean ? Surely the number of users should be there, which really is infinite. Why 30 couples ?

To me this means that you’ll be just interacting with 30 different couples and their poses. No interaction with another person. To me it does anyway. But. I’m usually wrong. Could be just that English isn’t their first language.

Maybe it’s a quote for the mobile version and put there by mistake. Who knows. All this assumption would stop immediately if someone from Achat would just clear this all up. And not leave us guessing and assuming. We, afterall, are/were paying customers.

It is very frustrating Achat leaves us with no or limited information on Achat Next.
I always presumed Achat Next was an update, not a replacement or an alternative game.

Like many, I have been a member for a number of years and have invested time and money into my account. I would not like to lose those things nor be left to enjoy an inferior game when a better one is available.

I have sent the below message to Achats Support asking for clarification…

And it said New Achat version with most modern graphics. That’s all it said unfortunately.

And I hope you are right. I also hope that it’s an update to this version and not an all new App separate to this one as mentioned by JohnFox.

The tl;dr version is that we don;t know if it’s an upgrade or new software, and except for the many new screens, do not have any real concrete info about a release date.
