New PM addition to Forum.

Does anyone know the secret of being able to read ones PM’s here?

I’ve tried the obvious…my profile, but to no avail. All there is is as below…

I’ve tried each link just in case they’re hidden in one of them, but no.

Maybe it’ll be similar to image posting and it’ll be left to the members to stumble around and attempt to discover some occult talisman or the text to an arcane ritual that will allow messages to be seen.

On any thread where you see the member name, there should be Contact underneath Participant.

Select that. 😉 It has to be someone else’s member name E.G Tift.

Bit of a pain I know. But that’s how I do it.

You can contact or PM Forum members by clicking on the underlined “Contact” under their name on the left by each of their posts.
It will take you to this forums PM facility.

As far as I can see so far, to access it… you have to be logged in and it has to be through another member’s name.
I cannot see any other way to access this facility.
Any PMs from “Old Forum” are no longer accessible.

I have asked Achat to allow another access through member’s profiles. When I get an answer I will post it here.

If you have received a Forum PM Message it looks like this at the top of the forum page.
To access it just click on that Forum Message Notification and it will take you to your Forum PM Page.

To Search for a member to send a message

1. To access the PM (personal message) section. Click on “Contact” under any members name to take you to “FORUMS PM”

2. This will take you to this page with a Menu Bar. Click on Directory. Here you will see a “Search Users” box.

Fill the name in of the member you wish to search.

3. Then click the “ENTER” button on your KEYBOARD to carry out the search.

4. If the member has joined Forum, the member should be found. To send a message click on ther “Send Message” link to the right of their name.

Hey V.

You’ve got two accounts. So have I. Must have been when we signed in when this forum just started. Must have put in my Client password in as my Forum password didn’t work.

I think you are right. The double forum account glitch when Forum first opened was eventually corrected by Achat.
But they must have left the duplicate accounts trace in the forum records.
I cannot access my duplicate though. Its effectively dead.

Private messaging is a good idea.. hope it can be available in the game as well, but I know it’s not up to the forum. Just a thought.

@skal we have always been able to pm here in Forum with the exception of a short span of time after AChat changed the Forum platform. Yes it’s a great way to keep in touch.
