Charles Robert Watts was an English musician who achieved international fame as the drummer of the Rolling Stones from 1963 until his death in 2021, aged 80 years.

Bob Costas in a 1993 interview he did with Charlie, when the Stones had already been together for 30 years: Costas asked him, “In those entire 30 years, when have you been the happiest?”
CHARLIE WATTS: “One of the most thrilling moments was – in doing this record (album of standards) when I’d assembled this whole orchestra at great expense! …. the moment when Brian, the piano player with our (core jazz) quintet gave the downbeat, and the whole orchestra began playing ‘My Ship’ – with Bernard Fowler singing the vocal.
